Hornets keep right on buzzing with rout of Celtics

Kon Knueppel scored 20 points and the Charlotte Hornets routed the Boston Celtics 118-89 on Wednesday night, extending their winning streak to six games.

The Hornets never trailed at Spectrum Center and lifted their record to 32-31, moving above .500 for the first time since Oct. 26.

Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball added 18 points each, while Coby White supplied 17 points and six assists. Charlotte committed just five turnovers and led by as many as 29.

The hosts opened with an 8-0 run as Boston missed its first eight shots, then carried a 64-43 lead into halftime.

Derrick White paced the Celtics with 29 points, and Jaylen Brown recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds. Boston shot 38 percent from the field, went 10-for-36 from three-point range, and gave up 21 points off 16 turnovers.
