The Washington Wizards announced today that guard Trae Young is showing encouraging progress from a right knee MCL sprain and right quadriceps contusion and will increase on-court activities immediately.
The four-time All-Star will undergo another evaluation in one week, the team said in a press release.
The Wizards also provided an update on forward/center Anthony Davis, who is recovering from ligament damage in his left hand. According to the team, the 10-time All-Star is progressing as expected but has not yet been cleared for basketball activities. He will be reevaluated in approximately two weeks.
Young has appeared in 10 games this season, while Davis has played 20 contests while battling several injuries, including the current hand issue.
Washington acquired Young from the Atlanta Hawks and Davis from the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season, but neither player has debuted for the Wizards. The team enters play at 14-39, the second-worst record in the NBA.
