Nike released a new commercial on February 13, 2026, paying tribute to late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant just days before NBA All-Star Weekend begins in Southern California.
The 30-second spot, shared by House of Heat, opens with the roof of SoFi Stadium lit up by an image of Bryant holding the Larry O’Brien Trophy following the Lakers’ 2001 championship. A Bryant quote—“You get out of L.A. what you put into it”—appears next, morphing into the Mamba logo while a crowd chants “Kobe.”
This year’s All-Star festivities are officially hosted by the Los Angeles Clippers, with most events slated for the new Intuit Dome. Despite the venue change, Bryant remains closely linked to the showcase. The league renamed the All-Star Game MVP trophy in his honor, and his 18 appearances trail only fellow Lakers icons LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
The 2026 All-Star Game will feature a USA vs. The World format for the first time, with James and Luka Dončić representing the Lakers. Nike’s ad arrives as the NBA continues efforts to restore competitive energy to the midseason exhibition—an approach Bryant championed throughout his career.
Separately, the Lakers organization released a short film titled “Iconic Los Angeles,” highlighting the franchise’s deep connection to the city as All-Star Weekend approaches.
