The Miami Heat have held internal conversations about pursuing Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, league insider Jake Fischer reported for The Stein Line.

According to the report, Miami is keeping close tabs on Morant’s status while evaluating ways to strengthen its backcourt. The 24-year-old guard has missed 11 of the Grizzlies’ last 12 games because of a calf injury.

Fischer added that the Heat have privately signaled a willingness to include forward Andrew Wiggins in a deal they deem suitable. Meanwhile, the lack of a contract extension for guard Tyler Herro has intensified speculation that the organization is open to significant roster changes.

This approach aligns with Miami’s broader strategy. The Heat have also conducted background research on a potential pursuit of Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo should he become available, per earlier reports.

Morant is not known to be on the market, but Miami is positioning itself to act if an opportunity arises.
