PHOENIX — Suns guard Grayson Allen sat out for the sixth consecutive game Wednesday night, still hampered by a right quad contusion, but coaches expect a possible return over the weekend. Phoenix visits Oklahoma City on Friday and hosts Denver on Saturday, giving the 30-year-old two chances to rejoin the lineup.

“We thought it was day-to-day,” interim head coach Jordan Ott told reporters before tipoff. “It’s dragged on a little bit. It wasn’t your average quad contusion—he got a good one—but he’s progressing. The goal is to keep assessing him daily and get him out there this weekend.”

Allen, injured November 13, averaged 18.5 points while shooting 46.8 percent from the floor and 44.7 percent beyond the arc during the Suns’ fast start. Team doctors later determined the bruise was more serious than it first appeared, leading to extended swelling and limited practice time.

Ryan Dunn Still Sidelined

Ott also said second-year forward Ryan Dunn missed his third straight contest with a sprained right wrist. Dunn completed conditioning and ball-handling drills after the morning shootaround, but has not resumed full shooting work. “That could ramp up at any time,” Ott noted.

Warriors Trio Scrimmages in G League

In San Francisco, head coach Steve Kerr watched Jonathan Kuminga, De’Anthony Melton and Gui Santos scrimmage with Golden State’s G League affiliate on Wednesday. Kuminga, recovering from bilateral knee tendinitis, “looked good and is moving well,” Kerr said. Melton, returning from a torn ACL, impressed as well, though Kerr cautioned that regaining game rhythm will be his biggest hurdle.

LeBron James Feeling Stronger

LeBron James shook off recent conditioning issues to post 25 points, six rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes Tuesday as the Lakers beat the Clippers. The outing was his third game back since a bout with sciatica. “It will get better every game,” James said. “Today was another testament to that.” The 40-year-old had struggled with fatigue two nights earlier in Utah.
