Cavaliers Listed Among Suitors for Free-Agent Forward Jonathan Kuminga

The Cleveland Cavaliers have emerged as a potential landing spot for Jonathan Kuminga after the Atlanta Hawks declined his $24.3 million team option, turning the former lottery pick into an unrestricted free agent, Jake Fischer of The Stein Line reported.

Kuminga, 23, spent the second half of last season with Atlanta following a mid-year trade from the Golden State Warriors. Over 16 regular-season games in a Hawks uniform, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds while assuming an expanded role during the playoffs.

Cleveland’s interest aligns with its offseason search for athletic wing depth, though the club enters free agency with limited spending flexibility and several roster decisions still unresolved. Kuminga’s age and upside could match the Cavaliers’ timeline if the financial terms prove workable.

The Sacramento Kings and other teams have also been linked to the Congolese-born forward, making his free-agency market one of the more closely watched storylines as negotiations open.
