The Los Angeles Lakers will pause their regular-season schedule on Wednesday night to recognize the Dodgers’ second consecutive World Series championship when they host the San Antonio Spurs at Crypto.com Arena.
According to Dan Woike of The Athletic, six members of the 2025 title-winning baseball club—Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Tyler Glasnow, Teoscar Hernández, Blake Snell and Evan Phillips—are expected to attend the game on Nov. 5, 2025. The ceremony comes two days after the Dodgers staged their victory parade at Dodger Stadium following a seven-game triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays.
The cross-town celebration underscores the growing link between the franchises. Dodgers controlling owner Mark Walter recently became the Lakers’ principal owner, while Lakers legend Magic Johnson remains a minority stakeholder in the baseball club.
Wednesday’s contest already carried intrigue with rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama leading the Spurs into Los Angeles. The added presence of the World Series champions is expected to heighten the arena atmosphere, a dynamic previously seen when stars from other local teams have appeared courtside.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick—a former youth baseball player—publicly praised the Dodgers for their repeat title earlier this week, noting his longstanding love for the sport.
