Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura has entered the NBA record books after hitting 50 percent or better from beyond the arc in 10 consecutive playoff games.
The milestone was confirmed on May 7, 2026, when Hachimura went 3-for-6 from deep in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to OptaSTATS, no player in league history had previously reached a double-digit streak of playoff games with at least 50 percent accuracy from three-point range.
Hachimura’s run began during the 2025 postseason and has continued through the current campaign. Over Los Angeles’ first-round upset of the Houston Rockets and the opening contest versus Oklahoma City, the 28-year-old is averaging 16.1 points while shooting 57.1 percent on three-pointers. His overall postseason three-point percentage now tops 50 percent for his career.
The Lakers have leaned heavily on Hachimura’s perimeter accuracy with guard Luka Doncic sidelined by a left hamstring strain and Austin Reaves still regaining form after injury. By stretching the floor, Hachimura has created driving lanes for LeBron James and punished defenses that collapse into the paint.
While teammates such as Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard have recorded standout individual games, head coach Darvin Ham has highlighted Hachimura’s consistency as a key factor in Los Angeles’ postseason success. The forward, who will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, is expected to draw significant interest across the league after his historic shooting display.
Doncic recently praised the roster for maintaining pressure in his absence, singling out Hachimura and others for “stepping up” during the playoff push as he works toward a return.
