Celtics Remain at Center of Trade Talk as Jaylen Brown, Cam Johnson Draw Widespread Interest

The Boston Celtics continue to dominate the NBA rumor cycle, with league executives still expecting the club to consider moving All-Star guard Jaylen Brown. According to MassLive’s Brian Robb, talks with the Denver Nuggets are viewed as unlikely because Denver lacks the draft assets Boston is seeking.

Boston’s front office is reportedly prioritizing frontcourt help. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto notes the Celtics have inquired about Nuggets forwards Cameron Johnson and Aaron Gordon. Robb added that Boston has tracked Gordon before, while Denver’s max-salary guard Jamal Murray is not considered a realistic target.

The Toronto Raptors remain linked to Brown as well, though sources told Robb that forward Scottie Barnes is off limits in any potential deal.

Nuggets Weigh Cam Johnson Options

Johnson’s stay in Denver may be brief. Scotto reports that the Celtics, Lakers, Heat, Clippers, and Magic have all expressed interest in the veteran forward. The Denver Post’s Bennett Durando likewise believes Johnson could be moved in the coming days as the Nuggets reshape the roster around two-time MVP Nikola Jokić.

Trail Blazers Eye Brown, Keep Gordon as Backup Plan

The Portland Trail Blazers remain focused on acquiring Brown, Scotto writes, but would pivot to Gordon if talks with Boston stall. Robb reports any Portland proposal for Brown would likely include Jerami Grant, one of Scoot Henderson or Shaedon Sharpe, and draft compensation. For now, the Blazers are said to be reluctant to part with Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara, or rookie center Donovan Clingan.

Bucks’ Plans for Tyler Herro Under Watch

Though guard Tyler Herro has already landed in Milwaukee as part of the Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster, his name continues to surface in trade talk. Before the deal, Scotto reports, the Lakers floated a package centered on Austin Reaves, while the Nets also checked with Miami. Rival teams are now monitoring whether the Bucks will keep Herro or flip him in another move.

Trade discussions remain fluid as front offices prepare for the next wave of offseason activity.
