Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James used social media on June 3, 2026 to welcome star pass rusher Myles Garrett to Southern California, one day after the Los Angeles Rams introduced the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year at their Woodland Hills practice facility.
Garrett, 28, arrived in a splashy trade that sent young edge rusher Jared Verse and first-, second- and third-round draft picks to the Cleveland Browns. The deal immediately elevated the Rams to Super Bowl-favorite status and paired Garrett with reigning league MVP Matthew Stafford.
Nobody understands the move from Ohio to Los Angeles better than James. The 41-year-old forward left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Lakers in 2018 and delivered a championship in his second season.
