The Los Angeles Lakers have re-signed guard Chris Mañon to a two-way contract for the 2026-27 season, the team announced. The deal keeps the 24-year-old with the organization after he received a two-way qualifying offer at the outset of the offseason, which made him a restricted free agent.

Mañon spent his rookie campaign with the South Bay Lakers and averaged 10.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.9 steals. During the 13-game G League Tip-Off Tournament, he led the league with 2.6 steals per contest and added 1.5 blocks, performances that earned him a spot on the G League All-Defense Team and a runner-up finish for G League Defensive Player of the Year.

Although Mañon did not appear in an NBA game last season, Los Angeles has emphasized player development and expects him to compete for minutes on the wing, an area where the main roster lacks depth. He is scheduled to play in Summer League as he works to expand his offensive game ahead of training camp.

The Lakers currently have all three of their two-way slots filled: Mañon returns alongside undrafted rookies AK Okereke and Peter Suder. The club can revise those contracts after Summer League or during camp, but Mañon’s defensive profile and experience give him a clear route to potential NBA action.
