New Orleans Pelicans head coach James Borrego told reporters Saturday that forward Zion Williamson took part in practice and will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s road game against the Chicago Bulls.
The update, relayed by team reporter Jim Eichenhofer on X, arrives less than two weeks after ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on December 2 that Williamson was expected to miss a minimum of three weeks with a Grade 2 strain of his right adductor.
When the Pelicans announced the injury, they declined to specify a recovery timeline. Saturday’s practice session marks the 25-year-old’s first known on-court work with the team since the strain was disclosed.
New Orleans, currently navigating a tightly packed Western Conference race, faces Chicago on Sunday at United Center. Williamson’s status will be updated ahead of tipoff.
