The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without guard Ayo Dosunmu and forward Kyle Anderson when they face the Houston Rockets in Game 6 on Thursday, according to multiple team and league sources.
Dosunmu, sidelined by right calf soreness, had been considered a game-time decision before being ruled out. The 24-year-old has carried a heavy load in the first-round series, leading Minnesota with 21.8 points per contest while shooting 60.9% from the field, 54.5% from beyond the arc and 95.0% at the free-throw line. Through five games, the impending free agent is also averaging 4.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 32.4 minutes.
His absence compounds Minnesota’s backcourt problems. Donte DiVincenzo is expected to miss several months after tearing his Achilles, and Anthony Edwards remains out for multiple weeks with a hyperextended left knee and bone bruise.
Anderson, a veteran forward dealing with an illness, was also downgraded to out, the team announced. The Timberwolves will now look further down the rotation to extend the series to a decisive Game 7.
