The Memphis Grizzlies plan to reopen trade discussions involving point guard Ja Morant once the NBA offseason begins, with league insiders projecting a larger pool of interested teams than the organization found before February’s trade deadline.

Reporter Jake Fischer of The Stein Line indicated that front-office executives now anticipate “predictive murmurs” turning into concrete offers in the coming weeks. During the winter trade window, Memphis gauged the market but received little traction.

One club unlikely to pursue Morant is the Utah Jazz. Sources told Fischer that Utah’s focus on developing rookie guard Keyonte George, who has earned an expanded role in the backcourt, makes a Morant acquisition improbable.

While no deal is considered imminent, multiple executives believe the Grizzlies will “test the waters” again once the summer trade cycle begins, confident that more franchises will at least explore the possibility of adding the two-time All-Star.
