Draymond Green will stay with the Golden State Warriors after agreeing to a one-year deal worth $27.7 million, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The contract matches the player option the forward declined earlier in the offseason, a decision that allowed Golden State to preserve salary-cap flexibility while pursuing free agent LeBron James. James ultimately signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving the Warriors to refocus on keeping their core intact.
Green, 36, has spent his entire 12-year NBA career with the franchise, winning four championships, collecting four All-Star selections and earning the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year award. He remains a vocal leader alongside longtime teammate Stephen Curry.
With Green under contract again, Golden State is expected to evaluate additional roster moves after finishing last season at 37-45.
