The Oklahoma City Thunder wasted little time closing out the Phoenix Suns, securing a 131-122 victory on Sunday night to complete a 4-0 first-round sweep.

All four wins came by double digits, pushing head coach Mark Daigneault’s first-round record to a spotless 12-0 since he took over the team. The Thunder have yet to drop a single opening-round contest under his direction.

The dominant start places Oklahoma City in rare company. Only a handful of defending champions have begun the postseason with four consecutive double-digit victories; past examples include Miami and Detroit, both of which went on to repeat as NBA champions.

Phoenix’s struggles continued on the other side. Sunday’s loss marked the Suns’ 10th straight playoff defeat in the past four seasons, matching the league’s longest active postseason skid.

Oklahoma City now turns its attention to the Western Conference semifinals, awaiting the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers–Houston Rockets series. The Lakers hold a 3-1 advantage entering Game 5.
