CJ McCollum Eager for Hawks’ Next Step After Late-Season Surge

ATLANTA — Veteran guard CJ McCollum believes the Atlanta Hawks can build on last season’s strong finish when the 2026/27 campaign begins.
Atlanta closed 2025/26 by winning 20 of its final 26 games. McCollum, acquired from the Washington Wizards in January, averaged 18.7 points and 4.1 assists over 41 appearances with the Hawks, playing a significant role in that turnaround.
Speaking with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, McCollum said the upcoming season should show further growth now that the roster has had time to develop chemistry.
