Rockets signal openness to trade talks across roster

The Houston Rockets have informed rival clubs that nearly every player on the roster could be discussed in potential trades, multiple league sources told Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Iko.
After evaluating their standing against top contenders during the postseason, the Rockets’ front office has decided additional moves are needed. Team officials reportedly consider second-year guard Amen Thompson “near untouchable,” but no one else has been given the same designation.
Houston is not actively shopping center Alperen Sengun or star forward Kevin Durant, according to the report, yet the organization is now willing to listen to inquiries involving either player.
Interest in Tari Eason
Restricted free-agent forward Tari Eason continues to draw attention. The Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets are among the teams that have checked on a possible sign-and-trade, though the Rockets remain intent on retaining the 22-year-old.
Bench upgrades on the radar
Houston is also exploring ways to deepen its bench. Veteran wing Dorian Finney-Smith has emerged as a league-wide target and could become part of discussions if the Rockets pursue greater roster flexibility.
Extension talks for Thompson
The organization plans to reopen contract extension negotiations with Thompson after this week’s NBA Draft, underscoring its high regard for the former No. 4 overall pick.
No deals are believed to be imminent, but league insiders view the Rockets’ new willingness to entertain offers as a significant shift from their previously guarded stance.
