The Indiana Pacers plan to release center Micah Potter in order to add recently signed forward Larry Nance Jr., according to multiple league sources cited by Tony East of Circle City Spin.

Potter, 28, joined Indiana in December and delivered his most productive NBA campaign. The 6-10 big man appeared in 47 games, starting seven, and averaged 9.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 51.5 percent from the floor and 42.3 percent from three-point range.

A native of Mentor, Ohio, Potter began his collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Wisconsin. Undrafted in 2021, he logged stints with the Heat, Pistons, Jazz and Spurs organizations prior to finding steady minutes with the Pacers.

Indiana’s decision opens a roster slot for Nance, who agreed to a one-year deal with the club earlier on Wednesday. The Northeast Ohio product out of Revere High School averaged 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds last season with the Cavaliers while dealing with injuries.

The move is part of a broader reshaping of Cleveland’s recent frontcourt rotation. Dean Wade has signed with the 76ers, Nance is heading to the Pacers, and the Cavaliers have re-signed Thomas Bryant as they await further developments involving LeBron James.
