A hypothetical deal outlined by The Indianapolis Star envisions the Indiana Pacers making a dramatic bid for two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Journalist Dustin Dopirak mapped out a scenario in which Milwaukee ships Antetokounmpo to Indianapolis, teaming him with All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton. The proposed terms are:
- Pacers receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Bucks receive: Pascal Siakam, rookie forward Jarace Walker, Indiana’s 2028, 2030 and 2032 first-round picks, plus at least one second-round selection
For Milwaukee, the package supplies an established All-Star in Siakam, a young prospect in Walker and three future first-rounders, potentially launching a roster reset. Indiana, meanwhile, would make an aggressive win-now push by surrounding Haliburton with Antetokounmpo and center Ivica Zubac.
Haliburton is expected to return next season after missing all of 2025-26 because of the Achilles injury he sustained in the 2025 NBA Finals. A projected starting five of Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith, Antetokounmpo and Zubac gives the Pacers a lineup that would draw immediate league-wide attention.
Key questions remain: Will Milwaukee prefer a younger, draft-heavy offer from another team? Are the Pacers willing to move Siakam, a central figure in their current identity? And would Antetokounmpo view Indiana as a legitimate championship destination?
Indiana has not been prominently linked to the Bucks star in league circles, but if Milwaukee eventually explores a trade, more creative proposals are expected before the draft.
