Center Mitchell Robinson remains interested in staying with the New York Knicks, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, even as the franchise weighs luxury-tax ramifications. Team governor James Dolan recently signaled a desire to remain under the league’s second tax apron, a stance that could limit what New York is willing to pay the 26-year-old free agent.
Fischer added that Robert Williams III, another free-agent big man with the Portland Trail Blazers, shares a similar wish to re-sign with his current club. Whether either center’s market value will align with his team’s spending limits remains unclear.
Elsewhere, the report noted that the Los Angeles Lakers have contacted the Oklahoma City Thunder about defensive guard Lu Dort while continuing to survey offseason upgrades.
Bulls Focus on Pick No. 4—and No. 15
The Chicago Bulls hold the fourth selection in Wednesday’s draft, and several league observers anticipate they will take Caleb Wilson if the board breaks as projected. Chicago also controls pick No. 15, which could provide additional flexibility. Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times identified Cameron Carr, a wing from Tennessee, as a name to monitor at that slot. New head of basketball operations Bryson Graham is said to value size, athleticism and two-way potential—traits Carr reportedly possesses.
Bucks Weigh Options Amid Giannis Uncertainty
The Milwaukee Bucks are scheduled to draft 10th overall but continue to face questions about star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and his long-term future. According to Ben Steele of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee has operated as though it could make multiple picks on draft night, fueling speculation about possible trade or accumulation strategies. Tennessee forward Nate Ament is among the prospects Milwaukee could consider at No. 10, provided he is still available.
With free agency approaching and the draft set for later this week, New York, Chicago and Milwaukee each head into pivotal decision windows that could reshape their rosters.
