Boston: The Celtics have expressed interest in New Orleans Pelicans swingman Trey Murphy III, league sources told The Athletic. Murphy, 25, is coming off a season in which he averaged 21.5 points and shot nearly 38 percent from three-point range, attributes that align with Boston’s pace-and-space approach. The club is viewed as exploring contingency options in case a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo does not develop. Retaining the Jayson Tatum–Jaylen Brown core while adding complementary talent remains a viable path.

Washington: Monumental Basketball president Michael Winger said in an interview with NBC4 Sports that Anthony Davis “has expressed a strong desire” to stay with the Wizards. Winger called his conversations with the 33-year-old center “delightful” and praised him as “a pro’s pro.” Davis arrived in Washington earlier this year in a multi-team trade, sparking speculation he might seek a move to a contender as he continues to chase another championship.

Orlando: The Magic continue to surface in rumors involving Antetokounmpo, but team president Jeff Weltman declined to discuss the topic, citing NBA tampering rules. Speaking to reporters, Weltman noted that “you can’t get into that conversation without talent,” pointing to a roster featuring Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane. Orlando has offered no public indication that it is actively pursuing the two-time MVP.
