Milwaukee — With Giannis Antetokounmpo’s time in Milwaukee now in the rearview mirror, the Bucks are weighing their next steps and may start with newly acquired guard Tyler Herro.
NBA reporter Chris Haynes said the 2025 All-Star is “thrilled” about the chance to play for the franchise he supported growing up in Wisconsin. Despite that enthusiasm, the Bucks are not locking themselves in. Sam Amick and Eric Nehm of The Athletic reported that Milwaukee is open to keeping Herro but will entertain trade offers, a stance expected to generate league-wide interest given the 24-year-old’s scoring punch and market appeal.
Heat-Bucks Trade Still Fluid
The blockbuster agreement that sent Antetokounmpo to Miami does not become official until July 6, and ESPN’s Shams Charania noted the deal could expand before then. No additional teams are involved at the moment, yet both the Bucks and Heat have time to explore changes.
ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne added that Miami’s final proposal mirrored talks held before February’s trade deadline, but with extra pieces attached. That haul included more young players, additional draft assets, and the No. 13 overall pick—a selection that could not be moved earlier this year.
Celtics Refocus on Jaylen Brown
League sources told ESPN the Boston Celtics made a strong run at Antetokounmpo before Milwaukee chose Miami’s package. Now, attention shifts to Jaylen Brown. Charania reported Boston has never actively shopped the All-NBA forward, yet his name sits atop many offseason watch lists.
Appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, analyst Brian Windhorst suggested Brown might still be “on the block,” predicting a potential bidding war and even speculating the 27-year-old could open next season in a different uniform. Whether Boston ultimately parts with its two-time All-Star remains uncertain.
The NBA’s summer calendar opens in earnest on July 6, when trades can be finalized and free agents may sign, setting the stage for more movement in Milwaukee, Miami, and Boston.
