PHOENIX — The Suns have explored scenarios that would push them into the first round of the NBA Draft even though the club currently controls only the No. 47 pick, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line. Radio host John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 said the team is not actively pursuing a first-rounder at the moment, but noted the situation could shift quickly if the right deal emerges.
Clippers
Holding the No. 5 selection, the Clippers appear inclined to keep the pick, Law Murray of The Athletic reported. Murray reviewed several trade possibilities and concluded that staying put is likely the most practical route. Los Angeles is expected to evaluate multiple guards in that range, including Darius Acuff, Keaton Wagler, Mikel Brown Jr., Kingston Flemings and Brayden Burries, though none is viewed as a seamless match with franchise centerpiece Darius Garland.
Lakers
The Lakers will draft at No. 25 and are focusing on frontcourt reinforcements. Murray listed Chris Cenac, Tarris Reed and Zuby Ejiofor as potential targets who could add size, athleticism and depth. Perimeter options such as Duke wing Isaiah Evans could also be in play late in the first round. Los Angeles aims to secure young contributors capable of fitting alongside its veteran core.
