The NBA ruled that officials were correct in refraining from calling a foul on James Harden’s go-ahead three-pointer during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 109-108* Game 3 win over the Detroit Pistons on May 9, 2026, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

With 30 seconds remaining and Cleveland leading by one, Harden created separation with a sidestep and sank a long-range shot over Tobias Harris. Harden fell after releasing the ball, but no whistle sounded. In its Last Two Minute Report released Saturday, the league stated that Harris “jumped vertically and would have avoided contact had Harden not extended forward,” confirming the no-call.

The review also noted that officials made no other errors in the closing moments. Harden’s basket helped the Cavaliers trim the series deficit to 2-1.
