The Dallas Mavericks have reached an agreement to acquire the draft rights to No. 56 overall selection Vsevolod Ishchenko from the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Dan Woike of The Athletic.
Los Angeles had obtained the pick from the Chicago Bulls for cash considerations earlier in the evening and will now receive cash from Dallas in return, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported.
While the Lakers initially appeared interested in using the selection, they chose to move the pick once they were on the clock. Multiple reports had linked Los Angeles to North Carolina center Henri Veesaar, who was taken at No. 52 by the Atlanta Hawks after Atlanta acquired that pick from the Los Angeles Clippers.
