The Dallas Mavericks are holding on to center Moussa Cisse, electing to match the New York Knicks’ offer sheet before Monday’s 11:59 p.m. ET deadline, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Agents Yann Balikouzou and Kevin Bradbury of LIFT Sports Management told Charania that Dallas accepted the deal, locking in Cisse’s salary at $2,185,116 for the 2026-27 season and $2,571,895 for 2027-28. Because of cap calculations, the 2026-27 tax/apron charge will be $2,449,421, the same figure applied to a second-year veteran minimum contract.
By matching the sheet, the Mavericks now have 16 players on fully guaranteed standard contracts. Cisse, entering his second NBA season, joins a crowded frontcourt rotation that also features No. 9 overall draft pick Morez Johnson Jr., recent trade acquisition Santi Aldama, as well as Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington.
Dallas acted quickly despite having the entire weekend to deliberate, signaling the organization’s commitment to Cisse’s development and fit in its interior lineup.
