Anthony Davis vows full 82-game season, predicts 40-plus wins for Wizards

Washington Wizards center Anthony Davis set ambitious goals for the 2026-27 campaign during an appearance at Fanatics Fest, telling social-media outlet WizSkins he expects to play every regular-season game and lead the team to more than 40 victories.
“Eighty-two,” Davis replied when asked how many games he plans to log after injuries limited him to 29 contests since his 2025 trade from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks. “We’re gonna have 40-plus wins.”
The 33-year-old All-Star also voiced confidence in a revamped roster featuring fellow mid-season acquisition Trae Young and No. 1 overall draft pick AJ Dybantsa. Davis predicted the rookie forward will capture the league’s Rookie of the Year award, adding, “That was an easy question.”
Davis did not appear in a game for Washington after arriving from Dallas at last season’s trade deadline, while Young suited up five times following his move from Atlanta. The Wizards have not posted a 50-win season since 1979, when the franchise was still known as the Bullets.
Team officials hope improved health for their new core can reverse that history. Davis, who insists he will be available for all 82 games, said he intends to set that tone immediately.
