The Los Angeles Lakers have secured additional back-court depth, finalizing a two-way contract with former Miami (Ohio) standout Peter Suder, league sources told HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
Suder, 22, completed a stellar senior campaign for the RedHawks, averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 54.6 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from beyond the arc. The 6-foot-5 guard guided Miami (Ohio) to an undefeated 31-0 regular season and its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2007, achievements that helped him earn Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors.
Undrafted in this week’s NBA Draft, Suder now joins a Lakers organization focused on supplementing its veteran core—headlined by Luka Doncic—with emerging talent. Under the terms of a two-way deal, he will divide his time between Los Angeles and the team’s G League affiliate.
The Indianapolis native is expected to make his first appearance in purple and gold during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas next month.
