The Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing a two-way contract with forward Arthur Kaluma, agents Todd Ramasar and Mike Simonetta told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Kaluma, 24, went undrafted in 2025 after collegiate stops at Creighton, Kansas State and Texas. As a senior with the Longhorns in the 2024-25 season, the 6’7” forward averaged 12.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks while shooting 46.2% from the field, 35.9% from three and 78.4% at the foul line over 33 games (29.3 minutes).
Los Angeles initially brought Kaluma into the organization last year on an Exhibit 10 agreement. After being waived in September, he joined the club’s G League affiliate—then the South Bay Lakers, now the Coachella Valley Lakers—where he posted 13.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 24.4 minutes across 40 games, hitting 55.2% overall and 37.8% from deep.
Kaluma’s strong play carried into the recent Las Vegas Summer League. In five appearances, he helped the Lakers to a 4-1 record by averaging 18.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in just 23.0 minutes, while converting 60.9% of his shots, 50.0% from beyond the arc and 82.4% at the stripe.
To open a two-way slot for Kaluma, the Lakers will need to waive one of their current two-way players: Chris Manon, AK Okereke or Peter Suder.
