LeBron James Could Cap Career With Cleveland Comeback, Kendrick Perkins Says

Former Cleveland Cavaliers center Kendrick Perkins believes the franchise is ideally positioned for LeBron James to finish his NBA journey where it began.
Speaking with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Scoop B Radio, Perkins said the Cavaliers remain the strongest fit as the 41-year-old superstar considers his next move in free agency. “It’s set up perfectly so that you can end it where it all started,” Perkins noted when asked whether James should rejoin Cleveland.
James has been unattached for three weeks after notifying the Los Angeles Lakers he would not re-sign. League observers continue to list the Cavaliers among the leading contenders, along with the Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat.
Perkins rejected suggestions that James is slowing down in what would be his 24th NBA season. “A 41-year-old is not supposed to be doing this,” he said. “A 41-year-old is not still supposed to be the best basketball player in the series.”
The 2008 NBA champion added that James’ greatest asset remains his ability to elevate teammates. “I’m convinced that he can go out there and win one with anybody,” Perkins said.
Agent Rich Paul has indicated James could play up to two more seasons but has not offered a timetable for announcing a decision.
