The Miami Heat have exercised their $2.3 million team option on shooting guard Pelle Larsson for the 2026/27 NBA season, the club announced via Twitter.

Larsson, 25, entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2024 draft and signed a three-year contract that was non-guaranteed for the upcoming campaign. The deal would have become fully guaranteed on opening night, but Miami moved early to secure his spot on next season’s roster.

The Swedish guard enjoyed a breakout 2025/26 season, starting 54 of the 70 games he played and averaging 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26.4 minutes per contest. He shot 49.6% from the floor and 32.3% from beyond the arc.

Larsson was reportedly discussed in trade talks with the Milwaukee Bucks during negotiations for Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the Heat ultimately completed that deal without including him.

With the option exercised, Larsson becomes eligible this summer for a four-year extension worth up to $93 million. If the sides do not reach an agreement, he would hit restricted free agency in the 2027 offseason.
