MIAMI — The Miami Heat have exercised the $2.3 million team option on guard Pelle Larsson for the 2026-27 season, the club announced Wednesday. The move keeps the 25-year-old under contract for at least one additional year.

Larsson, a former second-round pick, emerged as a full-time starter last season, opening 54 games and averaging 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 49.6 percent from the floor. He was reportedly discussed in trade talks related to the Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster but ultimately remained in Miami’s plans. Larsson will be extension-eligible this summer and can enter restricted free agency next offseason if no new deal is reached.

Raptors Secure Allen Graves at No. 19

TORONTO — The Toronto Raptors selected Santa Clara wing Allen Graves with the 19th pick, a scenario the front office had hoped would materialize, according to Sportsnet’s Michael Grange. Executive vice president Bobby Webster cited the rookie’s versatility and high basketball IQ as key factors in the decision.

“As a player, he’s a high-processor, two-way player who wins the possession game on both ends,” Webster said. Graves, who shot 41.3 percent from three in his lone college season, also drew praise for his defensive instincts and overall feel for the game.

76ers Land Labaron Philon at No. 22

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers believe they grabbed a draft steal by taking Alabama guard Labaron Philon with the 22nd selection. Team president Mike Gansey acknowledged the organization did not expect Philon to remain available that late.

“He was pretty high on our board. We were surprised he was there,” Gansey said. Calling the guard “dynamic,” Gansey emphasized Philon’s ability to play on or off the ball, score, distribute and compete with toughness.

Philon expressed confidence about fitting in quickly. “I want to come in and take pressure off Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe,” he said, adding that sharing the court with Joel Embiid and Paul George reinforces his belief the Sixers can contend in the Eastern Conference.
