Harden, Cavaliers Waiting on LeBron
The Athletic reported that James Harden and the Cavaliers have agreed in principle on salary terms for a new deal. The length—two or three years—will be finalized once LeBron’s decision is known, according to the outlet.
Warriors’ Free-Agent Calculus
ESPN indicated Golden State expressed interest in Rui Hachimura and Anfernee Simons but balked at their price tags. Hachimura accepted two years and $28 million from the Clippers, while Simons signed for two years and $12.3 million with the Sixers.
Team sources told ESPN the Warriors could have matched Simons’ number had they not re-signed DeAnthony Melton, but club decision-makers preferred Melton’s fit, versatility and perimeter defense.
