Former NBA Players Land New Deals Across Europe and Asia

ISTANBUL — Guard Jaylen Nowell has agreed to terms with Turkish club Beşiktaş, marking the latest stop in the six-year NBA veteran’s international journey.
Nowell heads to Turkey
Nowell, 27, appeared in eight games for the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2024-25 campaign and also spent time with the Washington Wizards’ G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. Drafted 43rd overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2019, he played four seasons in Minneapolis before short stints last year in Puerto Rico and China.
Hapoel Tel Aviv secures core players
In Israel, Hapoel Tel Aviv announced a three-year extension for swingman Elijah Bryant. The 31-year-old, who logged a single NBA appearance with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2020-21, earned All-EuroLeague First Team honors in 2025-26 after posting 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 54.4 percent from the field, 38.7 percent from beyond the arc and 89.3 percent at the line across 34 contests.
The club also reached a three-year agreement with forward Daniel Oturu. The former Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors big man averaged 13.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks on 71.1 percent shooting in 38 EuroLeague games last season. Forward Ish Wainright, another NBA alumnus, received a two-year extension to remain with the team.
Mike James joins Anadolu Efes
Anadolu Efes added EuroLeague all-time scoring leader Mike James on a one-plus-one contract. The 6-foot-1 point guard, who turns 36 next month, spent the past five seasons with AS Monaco and captured EuroLeague MVP honors in 2023-24.
The series of signings continues a busy offseason for clubs across Europe as they reinforce rosters with proven contributors from both the NBA and top international leagues.
