Dubai Basketball is pursuing French forward Guerschon Yabusele as the club prepares for its second EuroLeague season, according to Oscar Herreros of Sportando.
Yabusele, 30, became a free agent when he declined his $—player option for 2026/27 in February, a move that helped the New York Knicks send him to the Chicago Bulls before the trade deadline. Although the 6-foot-8 scorer has stated he hopes to stay in the NBA, multiple EuroLeague teams are expected to compete for his signature this summer.
Drafted 16th overall by Boston in 2016, Yabusele appeared in just 74 games over two seasons with the Celtics before returning to Europe, where he emerged as a standout for Real Madrid. A strong showing for France at the 2024 Olympics reignited NBA interest, and he signed with Philadelphia for the 2024/25 campaign. After a promising year with the 76ers, he secured a multiyear deal with New York last summer but saw limited action, averaging 8.9 minutes in 41 contests.
The trade to Chicago provided a late-season boost. Yabusele started 19 of his 26 outings with the Bulls, posting 10.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in 24.7 minutes per game while hitting 38.3 percent from beyond the arc. Even so, with a new front office taking over in Chicago, his NBA future remains uncertain, and a return to Europe could prove more lucrative.
Dubai Basketball debuted in the EuroLeague last season with a roster that included several former NBA players and continues to target high-profile talent. Former NBA big man Mamadi Diakite is also reportedly considering an offer from the United Arab Emirates-based club.
