The New York Knicks have reached an agreement with free-agent center Andre Drummond on a one-year, $3.9 million contract, according to a report published Wednesday, July 3, 2026.

The move is intended to shore up the middle in the absence of Mitchell Robinson, who remains sidelined. Drummond, 32, brings 11 NBA seasons of experience and two All-Star selections to Madison Square Garden.

Drummond finished last season with averages of 6.3 points and 6.6 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game while backing up in Chicago. He now projects as a key interior presence for head coach Tom Thibodeau, whose roster lacked a proven rim protector after Robinson went down.

The contract fits into the Knicks’ bi-annual exception, allowing the club to address a critical need without dipping into larger salary-cap mechanisms. Drummond is expected to report to New York later this week for physicals and introductory meetings.
