Former Michigan forward/center Yaxel Lendeborg participated in a Thursday workout with the Golden State Warriors and said he believes his playmaking and defense would mesh well with the club’s system. Projected as a late-lottery selection, Lendeborg could be available when Golden State makes the 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
“I’d say maybe five assists a game to start off,” Lendeborg told reporters when asked about a possible rookie role. “A lot of defense, fast-break opportunities for me. Whenever Steph [Curry] is taken out of the game, I’ll be there to assist, maybe provide a little more offense or instant offense.”
The 6’9” big man has already auditioned for the Thunder (Nos. 12 and 17), Heat (No. 13), Bucks (No. 10), Hornets (Nos. 14 and 18) and Mavericks (No. 9). Additional workouts with the Clippers (No. 5) and Hawks (No. 8) are scheduled.
“It kind of makes me envision myself playing on a team like this, Charlotte, the Heat—those teams I’m getting mocked to,” he added. “I can’t get too attached, though. If I don’t get drafted by any of them, I don’t want to be upset.”
Other draft notes
Caleb Wilson: The North Carolina forward acknowledged criticism of his perimeter game during last month’s combine but expressed confidence in both his shooting and passing. “People don’t think I can really shoot, which is kind of funny to me,” Wilson said. “I didn’t have the best numbers this year, but that’s not what I was asked to do. People that say I can’t shoot—I’ll prove it over time.” Wilson is widely considered a top-five prospect behind Cameron Boozer, Darryn Peterson and AJ Dybantsa.
Peter Suder: Once viewed as an under-the-radar invitee, the former Miami (OH) guard has completed 17 team workouts and has five more lined up through June 20. “It’s your job now,” Suder said of the pre-draft process. “You go in, show what you can do, and then move on to the next workout.” The 6’5” senior earned MAC Player of the Year honors last season and sits at No. 93 on ESPN’s big board. He is focusing on movement shooting and catch-and-shoot drills.
Jack Kayil: German guard Jack Kayil will remain in the 2026 draft, agent Milan Nikolic confirmed. DraftExpress previously projected Kayil as a second-round pick.
