Hawks Acquire Luguentz Dort in Three-Team Swap With Thunder, Mavericks

The Atlanta Hawks have landed forward Luguentz Dort from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a three-team trade that also sends 2024 No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks, multiple outlets reported Friday.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Oklahoma City will receive three second-round selections: Chicago’s 2027 pick via Dallas, along with the most favorable of Atlanta’s 2031 and 2032 second-rounders. The Thunder also generate a $17.72 million trade exception, matching Dort’s outgoing salary after the club picked up his option last month.
Dallas completes the transaction by sending guard Ryan Nembhard to Atlanta, league sources told ESPN.
The deal lowers Oklahoma City’s payroll comfortably below the NBA’s second tax apron. The Thunder had already shipped Isaiah Joe to Detroit and Aaron Wiggins to Atlanta earlier in July, receiving two second-rounders in each move.
Charania added that the Hawks view Dort, 27, as a potential long-term piece. The defensive specialist spent seven seasons with Oklahoma City, earned a spot on the All-Defensive First Team, and was part of the franchise’s 2025 championship run. He joins Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to give Atlanta a trio of perimeter stoppers.
