Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo was ruled out for the remainder of Game 4 after suffering a lower right leg injury less than two minutes into the first quarter, the team announced on social media.
DiVincenzo went down without contact immediately after releasing a three-pointer and signaled to the bench while clutching his leg. ESPN’s broadcast showed the play, and Minnesota’s medical staff helped him to the locker room. The club has not provided an official diagnosis, though the non-contact nature of the incident has raised concerns about potential Achilles damage.
The 27-year-old entered the night averaging 14.3 points per game through the first three contests of the series. He delivered 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists in Minnesota’s Game 2 win in Denver, then followed with 15 points, four rebounds, seven assists and four steals in Game 3.
If DiVincenzo is sidelined for an extended period, head coach Chris Finch is expected to increase minutes for Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland, while rookie Terrence Shannon Jr. could be added to the rotation.
