Forward David Roddy, a free agent after four NBA seasons, has signed a one-year contract with Hapoel Jerusalem, the Israeli club announced on Tuesday.
Sport5 previously reported the agreement could extend to a second season and is valued at $1.5 million for the first year. The move sends the 25-year-old overseas for the first time in his professional career.
Roddy entered the league as the 23rd pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Colorado State. He opened his career with the Memphis Grizzlies and was traded to the Phoenix Suns at the 2024 trade deadline. Over the next two seasons he had short stints with the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, and Denver Nuggets, mostly on 10-day or two-way contracts.
Across 173 regular-season NBA games, the 6-5, 260-pound forward averaged 6.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 16.9 minutes, shooting .424 from the field, .301 from three, and .693 at the foul line. He spent most of the 2025-26 campaign in the G League, posting 13.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in 36 appearances for Raptors 905 and Grand Rapids Gold.
Roddy recorded his first NBA double-double on April 14, when Denver rested its starters on the final day of the regular season; he scored 15 points with 13 rebounds in a win over San Antonio.
With no two-way eligibility remaining and guaranteed NBA offers reportedly scarce, Roddy heads to a Hapoel Jerusalem squad that competes in both the Israeli Premier League and the EuroCup. The roster already features several former NBA players, including leading scorer Jared Harper.
