The Los Angeles Clippers have not closed the door on adding another wing even after reaching an agreement with Rui Hachimura earlier this week.
Clippers Monitor Watson Sign-and-Trade
According to reporting from Jake Fischer and Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Clippers are still viewed as a possible sign-and-trade destination for Denver Nuggets restricted free agent Peyton Watson. League sources cited by Fischer and Stein described Brooklyn as more of a “conceptual” suitor for the 23-year-old forward, while Los Angeles continues to explore roster upgrades following its decision to move on from Kawhi Leonard.
Veteran Market Remains Active
Several experienced players are awaiting clarity on the next wave of signings. Forwards Larry Nance Jr. and Georges Niang have drawn interest from many of the same clubs monitoring LeBron James’s situation, Fischer and Stein reported. Guard Lonnie Walker IV, who spent last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv, has until July 15 to exercise his NBA opt-out clause and plans to meet with teams during the Las Vegas Summer League before finalizing a decision.
Kings Revisit Kuminga Pursuit
The Sacramento Kings have once again checked on Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported. Sacramento’s limited salary-cap flexibility—despite having waived DeMar DeRozan—means a sign-and-trade would likely be required to land the 21-year-old. Slater noted that the Kings have shown reluctance to pursue that path aggressively, while the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers are still considered stronger contenders.
With several prominent free agents unsigned, league executives anticipate more movement as the offseason progresses.
