The Milwaukee Bucks briefly added two players to their preseason roster, inking former lottery pick Johnny Davis and center Jeremiah Tilmon to deals before waiving both on October 17, according to the NBA’s official transactions log.

Davis, 23, agreed to terms on October 16. While contract details were not announced, the 6’5″ guard was widely expected to receive an Exhibit 10 agreement that would make him eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 if he spends at least 60 days with the Bucks’ G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. The La Crosse, Wisconsin native starred at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and was selected 10th overall by Washington in the 2022 NBA Draft. In 112 games with the Wizards, Davis averaged 3.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in 11.4 minutes, shooting .397 from the field and .273 from three-point range. Washington traded him to Memphis in February 2025, and the Grizzlies released him without an appearance. He finished last season in the G League with Westchester.

Tilmon’s signing appeared on the NBA transaction log early on October 17. Undrafted out of Missouri in 2021, the 6’10″ center has split time between the G League and several overseas clubs, most recently suiting up for the Shenzhen Leopards in China during the 2024-25 campaign. Like Davis, Tilmon was believed to have agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal that positions him to join the Herd.

The Bucks had two open roster spots and did not need to cut anyone to add Davis and Tilmon. Both players cleared waivers the same day they were released.
