The Milwaukee Bucks have met with ex-Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins as the franchise accelerates its search for a replacement for Doc Rivers, The Athletic reported.

According to journalists Eric Nehm and Sam Amick, the initial conversation focused on Milwaukee’s long-term vision rather than contract terms. Additional meetings between Jenkins and team leadership are expected soon.

Jenkins, 42, logged a 250-214 record over six seasons in Memphis, reaching the playoffs four times. Before taking over the Grizzlies, he spent one year as an assistant in Milwaukee and five seasons on the Atlanta Hawks’ bench.

League sources view Jenkins as one of the premier coaching candidates available this summer. It remains unclear whether he will wait to evaluate other openings before committing.

One possible alternative landing spot is the Orlando Magic, who have been linked to Jenkins amid speculation about head coach Jamahl Mosley’s future. Orlando’s postseason berth and Game 1 win in Detroit could strengthen Mosley’s case to remain, the report noted.
