Serbian guard Bogdan Bogdanovic intends to remain in the NBA for at least the 2026-27 season, according to representatives who have informed interested European clubs, BasketNews reported, citing Serbian outlet Meridian Sport.
The 33-year-old could reach free agency later this month. The Los Angeles Clippers hold a $16 million team option for next season that must be decided by June 26. League sources expect the club to decline the option, but it is unclear whether the Clippers will negotiate a new contract or let him leave.
Bogdanovic was acquired from the Atlanta Hawks at the 2025 trade deadline but endured the worst year of his NBA career. Limited to 23 games because of injuries, he averaged a personal-low 7.4 points in 19.7 minutes per game while shooting 38.8% from the field and 34.7% beyond the arc, both well under his career marks.
His injury issues began with a ruptured hamstring sustained while playing for Serbia at EuroBasket last summer. Expecting to return to full health, he is reportedly focusing on an NBA bounce-back season, which explains the message to European teams.
In March, Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade was linked to Bogdanovic as a potential marquee signing. Addressing that speculation late in the season, he said he would wait until the campaign concluded before making future plans.
Bogdanovic launched his pro career with Partizan in 2010, capturing four straight Serbian League championships and earning Playoffs MVP honors in 2014 before moving to the NBA in 2017.
