The Portland Trail Blazers are once again expected to test the market for forward Jerami Grant as the franchise continues to prioritize its youth movement, league sources told Heavy Sports.
Multiple front-office executives anticipate Portland will field calls on the 32-year-old ahead of the NBA Draft and the start of free agency. Interest is projected to be stronger than last summer, when Grant’s five-year deal was considered difficult to move.
Grant is entering the final two seasons of the contract he signed in 2023. With a reduced term and a more manageable remaining salary, rival teams are weighing him as a short-term solution rather than a long-term financial commitment.
Despite Portland’s first-round exit and lingering questions about his fit with the club’s timeline, Grant remained productive, averaging 18.6 points while providing size, defensive switchability and perimeter shooting—traits coveted by contenders.
The Blazers, focused on developing younger players and accumulating future assets, have signaled a willingness to discuss veterans who could accelerate their rebuild. Any deal, however, would require a partner prepared to absorb Grant’s salary and satisfy Portland’s asking price.
