Ballmer, NBA submit letters ahead of Sanberg sentencing
As Aspiration co-founder Joseph Sanberg awaits sentencing, both the NBA and Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer sent letters to the federal judge overseeing the case, ESPN’s Baxter Holmes reported. The league’s investigative attorney said Sanberg’s cooperation “substantially assisted” the probe into the Clippers’ ties with Aspiration. Ballmer’s counsel wrote that Sanberg “flagrantly defrauded” the owner out of $60 million and asked the court to weigh long-term reputational damage during sentencing.
