Florida forward Alex Condon has decided to stay in Gainesville for his senior year instead of entering the 2026 NBA Draft, ESPN reported on Thursday.
The 21-year-old Australian, projected as a late first-round pick, told the network he wants another chance at a national championship after the Gators’ unexpected second-round exit against Iowa this year. Condon helped Florida win the 2025 title and said the program still has “unfinished business.”
“We know what it’s like to win a national championship, and that’s the No. 1 goal for me,” Condon said.
Condon was an SEC All-Freshman selection in 2024 and earned third-team All-SEC honors in each of the past two seasons. As a junior he posted career highs with 15.1 points on 55% shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 blocks per game. Florida has gone 87-24 during his three years on campus.
At 6-foot-11, Condon is ranked No. 30 on ESPN’s latest top-100 prospects list, praised for his mobility, physicality and playmaking. His perimeter shooting remains a concern; he has hit just 26.2% of his three-point attempts over his college career.
“My shooting is a big thing, to get that more consistent,” he said, noting an improved second-half performance this past season. “My versatility defensively, being able to switch 1 through 5, is something I can do, and I really want to show that to NBA scouts next season as well.”
Condon also pointed to the 2025 NBA Draft selections of former teammates Walter Clayton, Alijah Martin and Will Richard as motivation. “When the team succeeds, everyone succeeds off the court too,” he said. “I feel like it could really be the same for us individually next season.”
