New York — The New York Police Department has prohibited spontaneous gatherings outside Madison Square Garden ahead of Game 4, the department confirmed on Sunday.
Under the directive, fans will not be allowed to form unsanctioned crowds in the immediate vicinity of the arena prior to the matchup. The NYPD said the measure is intended to maintain public safety and ensure clear pedestrian flow before, during and after the event.
Police did not specify how long the restriction will remain in place or what penalties violators might face. Officials advised spectators to arrive early, follow posted guidelines and use designated entry points.
Game 4 is scheduled for tonight at Madison Square Garden. Arena representatives directed further questions to the NYPD.
