NBA star LeBron James is focusing his free-agency search on two franchises—the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers—according to a report published Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The 41-year-old forward became an unrestricted free agent this summer and is evaluating offers from both teams, the report said. No other clubs remain in contention.
James previously spent four seasons with the Cavaliers, winning the 2016 NBA title. He has never played for Golden State, a franchise that captured four championships between 2015 and 2022.
A timetable for James’s decision was not disclosed. Contract terms under discussion were also not revealed.
